Tata Nexon / Tata Tigor: With a market share of 96%, Tata has maintained its dominance in the electric car segment. Its two electric car models Tata Nexon EV and Tata Tigor EV sold about 2,264 units in February, up 421% from the same month last year. The Tata Nexon EV is priced at Rs. 14.29 to Rs. 16.90 lakh (ex-showroom), while the Tata Tigor is priced at Rs. 11.99 lakhs and Rs. 13.14 lakhs (ex-showroom).
New MG ZS EV: MG Motor India has recently launched the All Electric 2022 MG ZS EV Facelift in the Indian market with an updated exterior design, good range and features. The car has already sold out for the year 2022. Therefore, the British automobile company has stopped its booking for 2022 MG ZS EV. The company may resume bookings for the electric SUV later this year. MG Motors has launched this car in two variants namely Excite and Exclusive. While the excite variant is priced at Rs. 21.99 lakh (ex-showroom), while the exclusive variant is priced at Rs. 25.88 lakhs (ex-show room). Electric cars can reach speeds of 0 to 100 kmph in just 8 seconds.
Mahindra’s electric sedan e-Verito has seen a 20% increase in February 2022 compared to the previous year. It is priced at Rs 12.67 lakh and goes up to Rs 13.03 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The BYD e6 electric vgx MPV is produced by China’s BYD Auto, which is exclusively a B2B introduction. The car can only be purchased from fleet operators in India. The company sold 10 units of the electric MPV BYD e6 in February. The car is priced at Rs 29.15 lakh (ex-showroom).
Audi, one of the leading luxury car manufacturers, launched the Audi etron in late 2021. The company sold about 7 units in February, more than its competitors Mercedes, Jaguar and Porsche. Audi has priced the new e-tron at Rs. 1 crore and its price in India is Rs. 1.18 crores. The company managed to sell 7 units of Kona EV on par with Audi. Cars like Tata Nexon EV and MG ZS EV are finding it competitive in the market. Hyundai has raised the price of Kona Electric by Rs. 23.79 lakh, which is Rs. 23.98 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
